Monthly Evensong Choir
Do you enjoy singing in a choir but can't commit to weekly rehearsals? St Matthew’s Choir in Chapel Allerton are looking for singers that would like to join them for monthly Evensong services, on every first Sunday of the month (on an informal, when-you-can basis). It involves a short on-the-day rehearsal and 6.30pm service. Some musical experience recommended.
HOW IT WORKS: let us know you would like to join us for evensong by the second Sunday of the month. By the third Sunday we will have chosen the repertoire based on the personnel. We will then meet on-the-day (i.e., first Sunday) for a rehearsal either at 4.30pm or 5pm (depending on the repertoire) and sing Evensong at 6.30pm.
HOW TO APPLY: if you would like to be added to the mailing list, drop an email to email@example.com, expressing you interest and confirming the voice you sing.
After the successful Messiah come and sing, we will be hosting a two day workshop on 24 & 25 June to perform Gluck’s Orfeo (the first reformed, modern opera, the birth-work of recitativo accompagnato). Details to follow. www.skorja.com/orfeo
