Wakefield Cathedral  will be transformed into the Radio Leeds' Breakfast Show next Wednesday (Sept 30) when the local BBC station moves out of its Leeds headquarters to broadcast its morning show from the iconic Grade 1 Listed building

The Dean, the Very Revd Jonathan Greener will open the show with a talk about the Cathedral’s history and its latest £1.8m redevelopment scheme, Project 2015 which started in June this year on the back of the successful renewal of the nave in 2013.

There will be a sneak preview of a track from the latest CD of the Cathedral’s renowned choir and a discussion about the importance of music in a cathedral by Tom Moore, the Cathedral’s Director of Music.

The new volunteer coordinator, Elizabeth Jenkins will speak about her new role and the importance of welcome and hospitality and will be joined by one of the longest serving volunteers, Chris Haigh.

Heritage officer, Tracey Yates, and Heidi Moore, Community Missioner will be talking about all things learning, heritage and mission and the knit and natter group will be ..knitting and nattering in the nave.
