The new site features a number of innovative features including an interactive schools map with the location of every church school in the diocese, linked to a comprehensive online directory.
The home page begins with a welcome video introduced by Bishop Nick Baines emphasising the importance and scope of Education in the work of the diocese. “Education is a massively important part of the work of the diocese of West Yorkshire and the Dales”, explains Bishop Nick in the video.
Richard Noake, new Diocesan Director of Education says in a letter to schools, “Communications is a key area that we have to get right and we see our website as being instrumental in providing a platform for us to communicate effectively with all 249 Church schools and the many partners and stakeholders with whom we work.
“It is therefore with great pleasure … that I can inform you that West Yorkshire & the Dales Education has secured a central presence on the new diocesan website and that our home page and additional key pages are now live .”
The new webpages also invites browsers to read the latest news stories from church schools.
