The role of the Rural Officer is to:

• Support rural parishes, clergy and church members as they engage in mission in their local contexts.
• Work in partnership with others to foster the spiritual, environmental, social and economic wellbeing of rural communities and areas.
• Raise the profile of rural issues with the diocese and local churches.

Support includes facilitating discussions, training, information on grants, funding and potential partnerships as well as best practice examples from other rural churches and communities.
